Register Today for the Global Ageing Network Conference

There’s still time to register for the Biennial Global Ageing Network Conference, which takes place Sept. 17-19 in Toronto.

If you’ve always wanted to attend a Global Ageing Network conference but couldn’t afford the airfare, this is your lucky year! The 2019 Global Ageing Conference takes place in Toronto, Canada, Sept. 17-19, 2019. Register for the conference today.

The Global Ageing Network Conference, held in conjunction with Ontario Long Term Care Association, will explore the theme, “This is Long Term Care 2019: Transforming Aging Together.” In addition to the main conference, attendees can also register for a Leadership Retreat and a Workforce Summit, both of which take place before the conference officially begins.

LEADERSHIP RETREAT: SEPT 16-17

Join your peers for a 2-day, immersive learning experience designed to enhance the leadership capacities of emerging leaders committed to the field of aging. Participants in the Global Ageing Network Leadership Retreat will:

  • Come away with skills, insights, ideas, and confidence to provide leadership in times of change and innovation.
  • Join an alumni network of past participants committed to ongoing learning and leadership development.
  • Gain a global peer network that is sustained well beyond the retreat experience.

WORKFORCE SUMMIT: SEPT. 17

A 1-day, pre-conference Workforce Summit will address key topics that are relevant to the aging services workforce globally, such as:

  • Recruitment and retention, including building a pipeline of talent and adapting to a new generation of workers.
  • Healthy, safe, and engaging workplace cultures.
  • Innovative opportunities to fill the gap between increasing demand for services and decreasing supply of workers.
  • Effective training, including standards, cultural competency, and bridging cross-national differences.
  • Core competencies for frontline personal care workers and supervisors.

The summit will focus on international long-term care, including home-based care, primary care models, skilled home health, and social care. Summit discussions will consider research, practice, and policy challenges and opportunities, and will draw on international perspectives and potential solutions.

A summary report and proposed action plan will be disseminated widely after the summit through the Ontario Long Term Care Association, Global Ageing Network members, and partners.
