Even after providers of long-term services and supports (LTSS) were prioritized for COVID-19 vaccination, only 50% of staff have been willing to be vaccinated. At the request of colleagues at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, Sigal Barsade from the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School convened a Behavioral Science Task Force to develop insights and concrete/practical recommendations on how to increase vaccine uptake among LTSS employees. Tina Sandri, CEO of Forest Hills of DC, will talk about how her organization succeeded in moving from 50% staff acceptance of the COVID vaccine to 79%. The story of how she did it was featured in The New York Times.

The goal of the session is to encourage participants to think about the challenge and policy actions associated with encouraging greater rates of staff acceptance of vaccines.

This event is sponsored by The Long Term Care Discussion Group, a voluntary, independent group that educates the policy community on all facets of long-term care.
