This a preconference to the Annual Meeting of AMDA – The Society for Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine funded by the National Institute on Aging.

This meeting will address 3 areas, with a focus on the care of persons with dementia:

  1. Research priorities for pragmatic trials related to care for resident function, psychosocial well-being, and medical outcomes: Internationally recognized experts will present overviews the state of the science and recommend research priorities in specific areas within each domain.
  2. Real-world strategies to conduct pragmatic trials in long-term care settings: Administrators from large nursing home, assisted living, and provider organizations, and residents and family members, will discuss key criteria to assure that implementation is grounded in reality.  
  3. Opportunities to widely disseminate promising new practices to change practice and policy: Leaders from a range of organizations will address activities to share promising new practices so they reach diverse stakeholders.

LTSS Center Co-Director Robyn Stone will participate in the session focusing on real-world strategies.
