This a preconference to the Annual Meeting of AMDA – The Society for Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine funded by the National Institute on Aging.
This meeting will address 3 areas, with a focus on the care of persons with dementia:
- Research priorities for pragmatic trials related to care for resident function, psychosocial well-being, and medical outcomes: Internationally recognized experts will present overviews the state of the science and recommend research priorities in specific areas within each domain.
- Real-world strategies to conduct pragmatic trials in long-term care settings: Administrators from large nursing home, assisted living, and provider organizations, and residents and family members, will discuss key criteria to assure that implementation is grounded in reality.
- Opportunities to widely disseminate promising new practices to change practice and policy: Leaders from a range of organizations will address activities to share promising new practices so they reach diverse stakeholders.
LTSS Center Co-Director Robyn Stone will participate in the session focusing on real-world strategies.
