LeadingAge Co-Director Robyn Stone will present a session on “Better Jobs Better Care: Professionalizing the LTSS Workforce” at the 2021 LeadingAge Gulf States Annual Conference. Her session takes place Wednesday, November 3 from 2:15-3:15 p.m. CST.

Stone will provide a summary of the current workforce crisis and an overview of the underlying factors that have influenced both the recruitment and retention challenges aging services providers face on an ongoing basis. This will be followed by a review of solutions that should be employed at the societal, policy, and workplace levels to address these challenges. Key takeaways from this presentation include the fact that solving the workforce crisis is a long-term and never-ending journey and that providers need to focus much attention on developing and retaining a high quality, competent staff to effectively meet the needs of an aging society and to survive in the sector.
