More than 3,000 attendees from across the nation and abroad attend the annual Aging in America Conference sponsored by the American Society on Aging (ASA). The 2019 conference will focus on:
- Emergency/disaster readiness,
- Housing and transportation access,
- Caregiving,
- Substance use/opioid crisis,
- Multiple aspects of dementia,
- Technology and aging,
- Intergenerational models,
- Population health,
- Shifting policy, and
- Legislative issues affecting older adults.
Taryn Patterson, policy research associate at the LeadingAge LTSS Center @UMass Boston, will present on “Providing Person-Centered, Trauma-Informed Care for Diverse Populations,” on April 16 at 4 p.m.
Robyn Stone, co-director, and Alisha Sanders, director of housing and services policy research at the LTSS Center, will present on “Financing a Service Coordinator/Wellness Nurse Model in Publicly Subsidized Housing for Older Adults,” on April 17 at 12:30 p.m.
Robyn Stone will also present during the National Forum on Politics and Aging, to be held on April 18 at 10 a.m. The event, which is open to 250 registrants, will frame a frank assessment of both the grand possibilities and challenging dissonances that characterize the current political landscape around aging and aging policy and how the players—from politicians, advocates, and activists, to citizens across America’s various demographic groups—will influence the future of aging in our nation.
