About 1 in 50 older adults suffer a TBI each year, largely due to falls. Although TBI is a major cause of disability for geriatric patients, evidence-based care guidance is hampered by knowledge gaps about clinically relevant differences in TBI injury, recovery, and outcomes in this age group. This one-day public workshop, led by the Forum on TBI in collaboration with the Forum on Neuroscience and Nervous System Disorders and the Forum on Aging, Independence, and Disability, will address the under-representation of older adults in TBI research and explore new approaches for supporting the translation of knowledge-to-practice.
